We encourage you to seek the Lord's spirit in your stewardship.   As you do, you will be led to those who may need your assistance and love, and guided in how to lift and strengthen them. You have been assigned through inspiration.   You will be blessed as you follow the counsel and direction of your branch presidency.   You should share your concerns with them and seek their counsel in providing assistance to those you serve. Week 3

Image
It is day 17 out here in Provo 5/25/19. Feelsgoodman. The only thing I miss is easy internet access. Like, that would solve so many questions. I wish I had memorized more song lyrics that were outside of the hymn book... there's only so many times that you can sing, "Big Strong Man." (by the Blaggards I think?). IT would ALSO be tight if I could play the ukulele HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM Here's Some Week Highlights. At the end I'll have a segment I like to call, "FAVORITE CONVERSATIONS." Read that if you don't care about random details - 5/19/19 Normally I  wouldn't talk about food, but we got pizza (in a package?) from Hermana Sparks' mother. And it was fantastic. idk how it worked, but ya'kow if it works, then it works. - Elder Gutke had this wild headache, and he wanted a priesthood blessing, so that was a cool opportunity to exercise the priesthood. He didn't want to take any acetaminophen or ibuprofen for it though? He changed his ...

Week 2 of MTC ;)

Highlight of the week is when Elder Neil L. Andersen (of the Quorum of the 12 apostles) came to speak to the missionaries. I won't bore you with ALL the details, but I'll give ya some ;) Since I had the opportunity to be an usher, I was given a seat on the front row, coincidentally right next to the door where President Anderson came in. There was such overwhelming presence when he walked in the room; it was so crazy and unlike anything I've ever experienced before. I felt such a huge amount of love for him in that moment and the moments following. He is amazing and truly guided. Newbies came into the MTC on Wednesday :). At one point, Elder Benevides said welcome to the MTC to a sister as we walked by, then I waited until she said thank you, and I said the same thing. Then Elder Benevides said welcome to the MTC again, and she replied thank you yet again. Then I said welcome to the MTC again, and she was so grateful for us that she stopped talking to us :,) My distr...

First Preparation Day Today

- My companion is from Brazil. He speaks Portuguese, and so is very good at Spanish. I have been learning a lot from him since I CONSTANTLY nag him, asking, "como se dice 'you are walking very slow, Elder Benevides,' en espanol?" Ha. He scored 7 something on the Spanish preliminary test, and I got 1 something (outta 10). I was finally able to cry yesterday because of that B-) (and do not worry, that is good.) - I am very grateful to have such a good group of Elders and Sisters I am working with. I hope that I am able to stay in contact with them despite that we all with do missions so far away from each other. Besides that, many of them lived very far away (Zimbabwe), though there is one sister that lived in Herriman and said that she remembers seeing me in the hallways at the high school? Her name is Hermana Farillas HMMMMMMMMMMMMM - I lucked out and the Elders want to run with me at 6 am? cool - I have not written any jokes yet that I wanna share, but I have...

From The MTC

Just lettin' ya know I got to the MTC safe n' sound Last night I was just thinkin' to myself about how many might look at a mission as restrictive, but I look at it as rather liberating. Just think about all the more things I will be able to accomplish by following the suggestions and guidance given to me. Hale ya, Elder
