Martes
Marcio is someone super special that I had the pleasure of having a discussion with today. Elder Saavedra had told me that he had responded a little hard to the invitations in the past as a catholic… however, I saw none of that this time. He was exceptionally excited to see us, and invited us in with a smile on his face. He explained in amazing detail all that he had learned from the pamphlet and recited definitions of the words and it was amazing.
He said that he had prayed and received an answer. However, contrary to all that he read, he came to the conclusion that all churches are the same if they lead to Christ. I explained to him that I could potentially then make my own church with cooler commandments, including which that one is required to eat Jell-O every single day. He seemed to understand the point afterwards.
He has decided that he wants to learn more about the church but that he is really interesting in baptism in the church prophesied in the bible that has all things gathered together in Christ (Ephesians 1:10). When he accepts the Book of Mormon as scripture he will know that this is the church that has all those things. He is gonna read the first ten chapters (all the while using Moroni's promise) and let us know how it goes! Ha! He's gonna be baptized very quickly if he comes to church. He's the most intelligent 17 yr old that I have met in the mission, and he talks really formally, but I understand it all. Really cool.
We went to Puerto Huarmey today! The port town. It is epic. I saw about a million and a half seagulls.
