I wish we got covid every day

Three highlights and a bonus highlight if you make it to the end

We received a referral of a recent convert (David Danon) that moved in with his nonmember family due to covid. We had a zoom call tonight getting to know him and he is really cool. He's only 26, but he's been working as a 3d designer for jewelry and sculptures. He's loved meeting with the missionaries to talk about scripture and he has a bunch of amazing stories. Like one of his neighbors makes replicas of people and sells them for a lot of money. It's a weird way to get into the middle class, but it works.

Also an amazing thing that happened this week is we got covid! Dr Davis told us to go to this urgent care to get tested and the line was so long and we had to wait two hours. While we were in the line, we talked with the person behind us for pretty much the whole time. She's Jewish and she was like ya'll are tooyoung to be Elders. Elder Massey was like ya he's actually 76 ahhaha. We shared a ton about the book of Mormon and how it helps Jews and everyone else come to a knowledge of their savior. Also how it helps people understand the purpose of following God and keeping the ordinances and not just doing it cus your dad told you. She was very intrigued and and then we also shared the first lesson as a response to her question of who Joseph Smith was and how he comes into the picture. She's lived in Israel for much of her life and she can read and speak Hebrew. The Book of Mormon is a short book for her! I love Jews! I wish I were a Jew… oh wait

For Kathy's lesson yesterday, I felt to teach the restoration by focusing on patterns that God uses. It just seemed like a good thing to do.  We first talked about how God loves us so much and only truth comes from Him. We can communicate to him through prayer. We talked for quite awhile about how if we follow the pattern of pondering over a principle or passage and then asking with real intent the truth will be made manifest to us. I didn't even realize that she's a coder! She remarked after the discussion that it was really meaningful to her especially the way we presented it to her that just rang so truly to her. There was such a great feeling of peace that settled over us throughout the lesson and on into the night afterwards. The next time we're going to meet, we're gonna do a virtual tour of the sacred grove! She is super excited and so are we.

When one of the families that we are teaching learned we had covid they made us enchiladas! and ornaments for our small tree, also gave us a rose with all the pokers cut off. Amazing! I wish we had covid every day!
