Some things that happened . . .

Elias said that he had some questions that he knows he will be able to find answers to now that he knows how to receive personal revelation. That was a special experience to give to him. Just looking at the foundation of the lesson plans and the sequence of them leading up to this point I can see God's hand in it. He now has enough faith to start looking for new work so that he'll be able to come to church on Sunday. when he went to work this past Sunday he felt something inside of him telling him that this was something that was good for him. He's also been texting or calling us almost every day to send us memes or tell us about his day. Everyone is my brother or sister, but Elias truly acts like it. 

When it was 4/20 we #glazed it. Ate donuts with our friends Roxanna and Cecilia. Cecilia previous set up an appt with us but lost her phone! We thought she just bailed. Anyways, we had a lesson with Roxanna and when the first vision was recited to her she had a powerful spiritual experience 

It went really well with a new friend we started teaching! I shared the family proclamation from a prompting even though it didn't seem to really apply to him as a single introvert but he really wants to have the belonging that comes from being part of a family and has loved ward activities in the past which made him feel like he had a family. He wants to change his life (everything about it) and get rid of the guilt he feels for his past. He said he wants to be happy like us and he has been watching Christian videos. The previous missionaries taught him some of of the harder commandments to live and he outright refused to live them, but he told us that starting a month ago, he decided to try living what he was taught and he's been clean for a month and loving how he feels... Though he did comment that he knows there's still A LOT that he wants to change about himself.

We talked to Hugo's neighbor across the street, Alfredo, who I felt prompted to talk to about life after death out of the blue. After I told him that he was basically like how'd you know that I needed that? That's something I've never been able to understand.

  


I put on a food creation competition and Elder Spendlove and Sister Murdock were the winners!!!

Viernes Highlight: I expounded scripture in the night doing follow up to Dayana over the phone. It was amazing. We both felt a burning in our chests and we both knew that the Book of Mormon is true.  John 3: 34 "For whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him."  I read over this several times, but only after saying a prayer, I came to understand that God does not give a partial peace to those whom only keep some of his commandments or only wish to listen to some of the words of His disciples. Similarly, the Book of Mormon really is the word of God, and anyone that is denying it will be unable to have the spirit in any measure. (We both felt the spirit really strongly like a burning in our bosoms and she remarked about it.) I wish we got covid every day

Three highlights and a bonus highlight if you make it to the end We received a referral of a recent convert (David Danon) that moved in with his nonmember family due to covid. We had a zoom call tonight getting to know him and he is really cool. He's only 26, but he's been working as a 3d designer for jewelry and sculptures. He's loved meeting with the missionaries to talk about scripture and he has a bunch of amazing stories. Like one of his neighbors makes replicas of people and sells them for a lot of money. It's a weird way to get into the middle class, but it works. Also an amazing thing that happened this week is we got covid! Dr Davis told us to go to this urgent care to get tested and the line was so long and we had to wait two hours. While we were in the line, we talked with the person behind us for pretty much the whole time. She's Jewish and she was like ya'll are tooyoung to be Elders. Miracle! We were contacting people on the way home yesterday, and we had a feeling that we should contact this one person that recently had been referred to us... but that we should wait ten minutes. Weird. Anyways, we decided to wait before going over even though we had nothing to do, and when we got there the lights were dark and on top of that there was a big fence and an aggressive dog in between us and the house. Right as we were going to leave & delete the referral record, someone pulled in that actually lived there and went in to get the person for us. Her mom and dad came out and they are excited to learn from us. The mom and dad especially want the family to come to church and the mom asked us for some stuff to read between now and the next time we pass by. Then an angel came down and - sike. Ok, but all but the part about the angel really happened. We're gonna have to pass them off to a family ward though because we're only in charge of teaching people in the ysa ...
