Sabado

We baptized the little girl today

When we arrived at the house of Mariana, her mom arrived right after we knocked. (I am so glad for the inspiration we receive during daily planning.) It turns out that her father is an inactive member. Seems like he still believes in it, and they have a TON of respect for the Elders. Reina, the mom of Mariana bought us soda (even though I really don't want to drink soda ever again I accepted and enjoyed it with them). Mariana and her sister wants to be baptized. I have never before placed so many baptismal dates in the first lesson before than in this area.

Luis (the uncle of Deborah) had a really bad day today. He invited us in, and after us asking various questions we realized that he went fishing (his job) and didn't catch anything the whole day because of bad weather. Also, his phone got robbed. He was absolutely exhausted. I reminded him of the experience that Deborah had had in the course of a couple days when she had only been studying the Book of Mormon; how she had started out sad and uncertain, and ended up happy and filled with joy. When we reminded him that his baptismal date was going to be today he kinda looked down and didn't have a lot to say for a moment. He looked up and nodded. Said that he wants to be prepared and that this time he will do what he needs to and come to church. I had to tell him that bad news about the virus… Anyways, I hope that he will be able to progress. He really is so good, but I'm so afraid that we are going to be taken out on Tuesday. I'm not sure what to think.

We went to the house of Cynthia, Harold, and their son, Adrian. I asked Adrian what he felt about his baptismal date that's in one week. He said that he sometimes wonders how it will be. Also that he sometimes sins but he always repents himself. He is so good. When he said the closing prayer, he prayed for all the people in the world. His parents want to be married, but are uncertain if they want it right now. I shared Mosiah 2:24, and explained how the Lord blesses us immediately when we follow immediately. I asked if they wanted blessings starting right now, or starting later on in their life. They changed their mind :9
